George H. Coleman of the Town of Lisbon passed away peacefully on August 31, 2017, at the age of 86.
He was born in Chicago to the late John and Eleanor on February 16, 1931. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. He married the love of his life, Janet Hopfensperger, on October 26, 1957. He was a union steam fitter until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janet; his children, Chris, Lynn (Mark) Chin, Tom (Susan), Julie (Charlie) Tindal and Greg (Dawn); grandchildren, Elena, Nick, Daniel, Mitch, Max (Michelle), Abby, Adam, Marianna and Billy; great-grandchildren, Violet and Isaac; and brothers Dennis (Barbara) and Michael.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Margaret, Paul, Pat and John.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 5 p.m. today, September 6, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland, followed by a reception. Visitation will be at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of the Mass. His final rest will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
