Dorothy A. Heale Dorothy A. Heale of Waukesha died peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2017, with family by her side at the age of 95 years. She was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Horace and Hannah Anderson. Dorothy married the love of her life, “Hoopie” Heale on November 7, 1951, and together they owned Heale Manufacturing in Waukesha.

She was a longtime active member of Ascension Lutheran Church. Dorothy and Hoopie started the Good Samaritan Fund at Ascension and she was one of the founders of Women’s Connected at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was also involved with the Waukesha Civic Theatre, Waukesha Symphony, The Women’s Center in Waukesha and the Practical Club. She received the Legacy Award from Children’s Hospital and hosted many Christmas socials for local charities and was a supporter of AngelsGrace Hospice. Heale Manufacturing Co. was very proud to sponsor a women’s slow pitch softball team. Dorothy and Hoopie loved to travel and were able to see the world together.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her children, David (Mary) Heale of Colorado, Cheryl Heale of Menasha, Debbie Heale of Pewaukee, Penny (Jerry) Kendall of Illinois and Steve (Barbara) Heale of Illinois; close family friends, Jim and Pam Hammes and family; and numerous  grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Hoopie; children, Christopher and Mary; grandson, Steven; and two brothers, Harold and Milton.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held on Friday, September 15, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp St., Waukesha, WI 53188. The burial at Prairie Home Cemetery will immediately follow.
