Jerome ‘Jerry’ Hoffman

Ever energetic, informed, and poised for any project, Jerome Hoffman “Jerry” died peacefully Aug. 23, 2017, at the age of 95. Jerry proudly served in the Navy during World War II, piloting landing craft in Iwo Jima, Saipan and Okinawa.

He married Margaret Butler June 8, 1944 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Sussex.

They enjoyed 59 years of marriage. Jerry retired from Waukesha Foundry in the 1980s.

He is survived by his son, Dan (Kirsti), and daughter, Mary Riggs (Ian), grandchildren Carrie Wintergalen (Tom), Max and Lucas Riggs, and five great-grandchildren. He was a grand friend to Jack Willert.

Born and raised in Mayville, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, and granddaughter Katherine Hoffman. A visitation at St. Alban’s Church, W239-N6440 Maple Ave., Sussex, is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will follow.
