WAUKESHA/ AMES, IOWA

Joanne Frances Dobbeck

Joanne Frances DobbeckJoanne F. (LeDain-Hepp) Dobbeck peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 5, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. Although she lived most of her life in Waukesha, she spent her final four years living with her daughter and her family in Ames, Iowa.

Joanne was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha, and was actively involved in Altar Guild and the Quilters. Her faith in God guided and strengthened her throughout her life. She was a nurse for 25 years at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Her compassion, love and strong work ethic blended beautifully for this work.

Joanne and her husband, Ken, loved traveling the U.S. and spending time with family and friends. One of her final statements was that family meant everything to her. That was very evident in the way she lived her life and the impact that she had on her family and friends. She also loved puzzles, casinos and holidays with family. She always showed grace and concern for others.

She will be deeply missed by her sons Jeffrey (Sylvia) Hepp of Waukesha and James (Mary) Hepp of Mukwonago, and also by her daughter Joyce (John) Bannantine of Ames. She was a loving grandma to John and Jennette Hepp; David and Michael (Jessica) Hepp; and Jordan, Emily, Christian and Noah Bannantine. She was blessed with five great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by many friends and family!

She was preceded in death by her daughter Jean; her son Jerry; her husband, Ken Dobbeck; the father of her children and first husband, Jerome Hepp; her sister, Mary Landers; and her brother- in-law, Alfred Landers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joanne’s name are appreciated for St. Mark’s Lutheran Church directed to the Quilters group where quilts are made for the homeless, the elderly and those in need.

It is with great joy and humility that we proclaim, “Her children arise and call her blessed;” Proverbs 31:28a Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. service at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, Oct. 14.
