Janette Lillian (Hazard) Totka, age 87, of Adams, died Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship. Janette was born November 30, 1929, in Oconomowoc, to Louis and Lillian (Fehrmann) Johnson. She married Paul Hazard in 1947. The marriage was blessed with eight children. Later in life, following Paul’s passing, Janette married Charles Totka in 1979. She worked as a waitress, cashier, owned and operated Hazard’s Bar in Milwaukee and CT’s Bar in Cudahy. Later she worked at Uptown Trading Post in Wisconsin Dells.

Janette enjoyed bingo, reading, knitting, bird watching, gardening, fishing and playing cards.

Janette was preceded in death by her father, Louis Johnson; mother, Lillian (Fehrmann) Tatro; stepfather, Sylvester Tatro; brother, Willard Johnson; husband, Paul Hazard; second husband, Charlie Totka; son, Paul Hazard Jr.; son, Pat Hazard; daughter-in-law, Debra Hazard; and sister-in-law, Peggy Johnson.

She is survived by daughter Penny Hazard of Bardstown, Ky.; son Mike (Judy) Hazard of Milwaukee; son Peter Hazard of Sullivan; daughter Phyllis (Robert) Miller of Adams; son Dennis (Mary) Hazard of Adams; daughter Debra Glosch of Sturgeon Bay; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship. The Rev. Richard Eberly will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
