Richard “Dick” F. Lufter Sr., 79, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at his home.
Richard was born on January 1, 1938, to Kurt and Irene (nee Matzek) Lufter in Waukesha. He served in the United States Army. On July 5, 1957, he was united in marriage to Audrey Pfeil at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Dick had been employed on the tree trimming crew for the forestry department in Waukesha for over 33 years. He was a member of the American Legion 32nd Division. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed wood working.
Dick is survived by his wife, Audrey Lufter of Watertown; three sons, Richard (Christine) Lufter, Jr. of Waukesha, Scott Lufter of Watertown and Jeffrey Lufter of Sullivan; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Innichement will take place Monday, October 30, at 1 p.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
