Robert Earl Cook

Robert Earl Cook, 83, of Waukesha, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Kensington Care with his family close to him. He was born December 9, 1933, the son of Earl Robert and Myrtle (Hardy) Cook. Robert lived most of his early life in Boscobel, Madison and Muscoda. He graduated from Muscoda High School in 1953 and enlisted in the Army in December 1953. He served three years and was stationed in Colorado, Virginia and England. After his discharge, he worked in local area industries, retiring from Quad/Graphics in Sussex in 1999.
Robert loved the outdoors and spent many happy days fishing, camping and looking for mushrooms. He enjoyed rock hunting and made beautiful jewelry for a hobby. He was a member of the Kettle Moraine Geological Society for many years.
Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna (nee Miller), whom he married in May 1960. He is also survived by sons, Kevin (Diane) Cook and Daniel (Amy) Cook; grandchildren, Zachery (Maggie) Cook, Lacey (Javier) Benetiz, Freedom Hanson and Aden Cook; great-granddaughter, Paige Hanson; special sister- in-law, Judy Cook of Waunakee; brother Tom; and sister Shirley Standish of Muscoda. Robert will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother Eugene; sister Barbara; and brother-inlaw Douglas Standish.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, November 19, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, from 11 a.m. until the memorial service at 1 p.m.
