Ethelda Ellen (Fruit) Loose, 97, died peacefully on November 24, 2017 in Clarendon Hills, Ill. She was born in Waukesha on April 21, 1920, to Clyde and Lucy (Chapman) Fruit. She was married on July 15, 1942, in Wauwatosa to Howard Leslie Loose with whom she raised three daughters and a son in Waukesha.
She trained as a nurse at Deaconess Hospital in Milwaukee and earned her BS in nursing from Marquette University.
She was an avid seamstress and textile crafter. She also enjoyed gardening, travel and golf.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; their son, Kevin; her brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Alice Fruit; her sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Arnold Gapinski; and great-granddaughters Elena, Victoria and Carolyn Wu. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen Fauth (George Rodgers), Darlene Myers (Mark) and Sandy Loose-Schrantz (Peter); five grandchildren Coleen Michaelis (Ed), Wade Fauth (Jess), Riley Fauth (Rachel), Ashley Wu (Jeffrey) and McKenzie Dekker (Clint) and eight great-grandchildren Spencer, Sadie and Eli Michaelis, Abigail, Maxwell and Avery Fauth and Elizabeth and Sophia Dekker.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the St. James United Methodist Church in East Troy followed by a luncheon.
