March 14, 1925 — Nov. 14, 2017
Dorothea L. Zastrow was born into life March 14, 1925, and born to eternal life November 14, 2017.
She was the cherished aunt of Ingrid, Paul, Cheryl, Karen, Mark and Elinor Sletten, and grand-aunt of Nick and Katie Long, Arthur, Lucas, Lily, Gwen, Morgan and Evan Sletten. She is also survived by her dear friend Emmy Schallhorn and many other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by dear parents, Arthur and Hilda Zastrow, and precious sister Grace L. Sletten. Dorothea was a woman of great accomplishment. She graduated with a degree in economics from St. Olaf College in 1948. She owned and operated Zastrow’s Dry Goods on Main Street in Oconomowoc from the 1960s through the 1980s.
A special thanks to Cheryl Sletten, Emmy Shallhorn and the many other dear women who cared for Dorothea in her final months with us. We are also so grateful for Dorothea’s friends at Berkshire Community of Oconomowoc for years of fun and laughter. And finally we want to thank Dr. Michael Uy, Dr. Bambi Meyers, and Shorehaven Health and Rehabilitation Center for all of their care and compassion in her last earthly days.
