James C. Connell
June 5, 1926 — Nov. 25, 2017
James C. Connell passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at age 91.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara for 67 years; loving father of Jim (Marcia) and Mary (Bob) Eloranta; proud gramps of Justin Connell, Jessie (John) Stevens and Tyler (Sarah) Eloranta; and great-gramps to Ivy, Clara, Jane and Jonas. He is also survived by Peter (Ursula) Hueser, foreign exchange student in 1968 and special friend.
Jim earned his Eagle Scout award from Boy Scouts, and was a Scout master of Troop 87 in Pewaukee for seven years.
He was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity for 28 years. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Agriculture, and has been a lifelong Badger fan. He was an avid bow hunter, a muskie fisherman, and a purple martin enthusiast. Jim spent his entire 91 years on his Pewaukee farmstead, where he dairy farmed and was a producer for the Golden Guernsey Dairy. During his farming career, he always had time for one more load of hay.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Habitat for Humanity in Collier County, Florida, or to St. Matthias Episcopal Church are appreciated.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of a service at 12 p.m. noon at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main St. in Waukesha.
