Dorothy A. Plautz (nee Marsh) passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of the late John Plautz, the late Paul Ogrizovich, the late Alan Brunka and the late Noel Craig.
She was the loving mother of the late Valorie (Lawrence) Noldan and stepmother of Thomas Brunka, James (Ellen) Brunka, Lee Ann Ogrizovich, Robin Ogrizovich Fiorenza, Paul G. (Debbie) Ogrizovich, Lynda (Thomas) Grasse and John M. (Joan) Plautz. She was the proud grandmother of Lars (Pamela) Noldan. She will also remembered by eight step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was born in Neenah on November 11, 1928, to Elwin William Marsh and Eleanor Elizabeth (nee Merkley) and moved with her parents to a farm near Eureka. She attended Bell School and Omro High School. It wasn’t until her daughter and stepsons were through college that she went back to school herself to pursue her dream of becoming a published writer. She studied with the late Robert Gard of the University of Wisconsin and the late Dr. Viola Wendt of Carroll College. Her articles appeared in the Berlin Journal, Omro Herald, Milwaukee Journal; including a column for Jim Wolf, Milwaukee Sentinel, RV Magazine, etc. In 1987 her first novel, The Glass House was published. In all, she had 3 novels and several poems published.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m.
