Karen Buntrock (nee Brunner) passed away peacefully in her home in Waukesha on Saturday, Dec.16, 2017.
Karen Christina Brunner was born on July 2, 1942, to Melford C. and Selma H. Brunner in Wauwatosa. She had six siblings: William (Betty), Melford (Shelby), Sharon (Carl Cornehls), Marian (Paul Laub), and Sami (Thomas Mitchell) and was preceded in death by her brother Daniel. At 19, Karen married Gordon Richard Buntrock on May 13, 1961. She had four beautiful children: Kari, Lori, William (Bill), and Kendra. Unfortunately, Lori passed away when she was very young. Each of the three remaining children grew up to have a wonderful family. Kari married Robert McDonnell and has three children: Matthew (Allie), Brandon, and Megan. Bill married Jennifer and has two children named Ashley and Owen. Kendra married Manuel Barberena and has Amanda and Allison.
Karen was an avid reader and also loved politics and travel.
The visitation for Karen will be on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, starting at 10 a.m. with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. noon at the Cesarz, Charapata, and Zinnecker Funeral Home located at 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Ralph Schultz is officiating. Burial will take place privately at Prairie Home Cemetery.
