Iris M. Long

Iris M. Long, age 99, of Woodruff passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Seasons of Life Hospice. She was born on July 10, 1918, in Waukesha, to Max and Elsie Savatski.
Iris married Jack Long and they resided in Waukesha, where they raised their family of five children. For a number of years, she was employed at Waukesha Motor Works. In retirement, Iris moved to Fort Meyers, Fla., and following the death of her husband, Jack, she returned to Wisconsin, residing in Rhinelander and then moving to One Penny Place in Woodruff. In later years, she enjoyed visits to the casino.
Iris is survived by four children, Mike (Mary) Long of Menomonie, Mary Ballard of Tomahawk, Cindy (Lou) Zak of Gleason, and Linda Long of Fort Atkinson; six grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Jack, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kim Long; a son-in-law, Dan Ballard; and two sisters, Inez Morris and Elaine Hey.
There will be no formal services for Iris at this time.
