PEWAUKEE LAKE |
Shirley L. (Wallich) Graf
April 9, 1930 — Jan. 21, 2018
Shirley L. (Wallich) Graf, 87, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc on Sunday January 21, 2018.
Shirley joins her “fly boy” Jerry, who preceded her in death in 2005; she also joins her bother Don and parents, Ed and Rose. Shirley was born in Waukesha on April 9, 1930 and was the oldest of three children.
Shirley was a shrewd businesswoman who partnered with her husband Jerry in the development and operation of several trucking companies. Her love for Jerry never wavered along with her love for all animals, family and friends. She spent many years on the Graf homestead and in Sarasota, Fla., prior to moving to their retirement home on Pewaukee Lake.
Over the years, Shirley and Jerry were able to share their travel adventures with many close friends. During her prime, Shirley loved to cook gourmet meals as well as entertain. For those close to Shirley, an adjustable waistband was always needed.
Shirley is survived by her sister Lynn Wallich (Mary Jo Hudson); her niece Pam Fisher (Brian); her great-nephews Josh Fisher (Lisa) and Zach Fisher (fiancée Carrie Seibel); and a great-great-nephew, Grayson. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Dr. Richard Graf (Barbara) and nephews Andrew (Tex) Graf (Beth), Bill Graf (Candace) and Rick Graf (Angela), as well as other great nieces and nephews.
Strong, independent, private, generous and funny are a few of the adjectives that describe Shirley Graf best. Be ready heaven, you have your hands full. She is dearly missed.
Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, at Cesarz, Charapata and Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, beginning with the visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 noon followed by the service with the Rev. Steven Welch officiating.
