June L. (Kerr) Turkoske

June Lorraine Turkoske, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, passed on to eternal life at AngelsGrace Hospice on 1 Thursday, February 1, I 2018, at age 93. June was born in Waukesha on June 17,1924, to Glen Kerr and Myrtle Pfeil Kerr.
June was united in marriage to Melvin Turkoske on June 8,1946, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha, where she became a lifelong member. June graduated from Waukesha High School in 1942 and began her employment at Lee Larson Company and spent 22 years as a supervisor at J.C. Penney catalog in Waukesha before retiring in 1986.
June loved to knit, donating several hundred baby hats to Waukesha Memorial Hospital and the American Heart Association over the years, as well as many lap robes, prayer shawls and baby blankets to various organizations. She also loved reading, word puzzles, playing cards and bingo, and spending time with family and friends.
She was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan and always eagerly anticipated the start of each new season.
June will be deeply and sadly missed by daughter Connie (David) Stearns, and sons Kent (Julie) Turkoske and Robert Turkoske all of Waukesha; grandchildren Amy (Jon) Oaks, Scott (Anne) Stearns and Craig (Jen) Stearns, all of Waukesha, Sara (Carlos) Irizarry of San Diego and Melissa (Aaron) Kinas of Madison, Dan Turkoske (Amanda Lindemann) of North Prairie and Emily Turkoske of Waukesha; and her precious great-grandchildren Connor and Jordan Oaks, Simon and Sophie Stearns, Carter Stearns, Catalina June Irizarry, Kaia and Aloe Kinas.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; sister Virginia (Charles) Weast; parents, Glen Kerr and Myrtle Kerr Bishop; stepfather, Richard Bishop; and many relatives and friends. She was looking forward to a family reunion in heaven.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, beginning at 10 a.m. followed by the 11:30 a.m. service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1952 White Rock Ave., Waukesha.
The Rev. Lawrence Gates will be officiating. Entombment will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.
