Alyce J. Carravetta Alyce J. Carravetta (nee Butterfield), 84, passed away at Willowcrest Care Center on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Alyce was born in Waukesha on September 10, 1933 to Ernest and Lorena (nee, Bell) Butterfield. She married James J. Carravetta in Waukesha on June 26, 1954. Alyce was a teacher for many years. She started with St. John’s Lutheran School kindergarten and retired from Racine Unified School District. She was named Elementary Teacher of the Year and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a life member of the UW-Parkside Alumni. Alyce was also a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church where she was active in the choir and Sunday school. She was also a member of the Racine Lutheran High School Ladies Guild and served as its president. She was an avid Brewers fan.

Survivors include her husband, James J. Carravetta; daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” (David) Donaldson and Amy (Mark) Vasey; grandchildren, Lauryn, Nick, Samantha, Amy and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Mariah, Marciano, Julian and Jalina; and brothers, Oliver (Helen) Butterfield of Waukesha and Gene (Kathy) Butterfield of Franksville. Alyce is also survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Alyce will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 20, at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Zarling officiating. A private family entombment will take place in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Milwaukee. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 4 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to Epiphany Lutheran Church, Racine Lutheran High School or the Lutheran Children’s Friends Society.
