Paul M. Hustad

Private funeral services were held on Dec. 12 at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton for Paul M. Hustad of Grafton, who died on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005 at the Cedar Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg at the age of 83. The Rev. Kenton Wendorf from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton officiated the funeral service. Interment took place at Woodlawn Cemetery, where military honors were provided by the Rose-Harms American Legion Post 355 of Grafton. Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton assisted the family with arrangements.

Paul was born on Dec. 25, 1921 in Cumberland to the late Milo and Laura (nee Nelson) Hustad. During World War II, from 1943 to 1946, Paul served with the 306th Pilot Squadron of the Army Air Corps in Santa Ana, Calif.

Paul married LaVerne (nee Bauer) and they remained best friends for over 53 years. Their marriage was blessed with two children.

Paul is survived by his wife LaVerne; children Susan (John) Raymond and Gary (Susette) Hustad; grandchildren Timothy and Kristin Raymond and Amanda Hustad; and his brother William. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his brother Harold and his sister Estelle Kauffman.
