Edwin F. Henke

Edwin F. Henke, 84, of Beechwood, passed away on Mon-day, Dec. 19, 2005 at Beechwood Rest Home in Beechwood.

He was born on Nov. 26, 1921 in Milwaukee, the son of the late Edwin and Charlotte (nee Brown) Henke, and on Sept, 30, 1943, he was united in marriage to Marianne Andres in Milwaukee.

His wife preceded him in death on Nov. 6, 2003.

Edwin served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was employed by the city of Milwaukee Police Department, retiring as a detective after 27 years of service.

He was a rural carrier delivering the West Bend Daily News for 13 years, and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum and St. Matthias Catholic Chapel in the town of Auburn.

Survivors include three children, Peter (Denise) Henke of Louisville, Ky., Carrie (Jeff) Hintz and Matthew (Tara) Henke, both of Beechwood; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Henke of Saukville; a brother, William (Connie) Henke of Cedarburg; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was a son, Mark Henke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum with Father Edwin Kornath officiating.

Military rites will follow Mass and cremation will take place.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of services.

The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum is serving the family.
