Mayme B. Serwe

Mayme B. Serwe, 89, of Campbellsport, died on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005 at Grancare Nursing and Rehab Center in Fond du Lac.

She was born Dec. 3, 1916 in the town of Ashford, the daughter of Math and Anna (Beder) Beck, and on Jan. 10, 1942 she married Leo H. Serwe at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Ashford.

They farmed together in the town of Ashford until retiring.

Mayme was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport, the Christian Mothers and the Mission Sewing Circle.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting and playing cards.

Survivors include her sons, Robert (Sue) and Norbert (Lorraine), both of Campbells-port; her daughters, Elaine (Larry) Floeter and Jean (Mark) Schlaefer, both of Campbellsport; three grandchildren, Robert (Penny) Serwe, Lynn (Chad) Behling and Gregg (Katrina) Serwe; a great-granddaughter, Kalli; a sister-in-law, Mary Beck; and her companions, Angel and Sylvester.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Leo, on Aug. 21, 1978; two brothers, Joe and George Beck; and two sisters, Regina Bingen and Anne Zangl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Campbellsport.

Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Matthew’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
