A celebration of life will take place on Nov. 5, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Baymont Inn in Grafton for George Brandau of Cedarburg, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005 at the Virginia Highlands in Germantown at the age of 61. Schramka-Densow Funeral Home in Thiensville is assisting the family with arrangements.
George was born in Detroit, Mich., on March 31, 1944 to the late George and Marion Brandau. He lived in Detroit until 1955, when his family moved to Rochester, N.Y. After serving two years on the naval destroyer USS Benjamin Stoddart (DDG 22), he got married and helped raise two children. George and his family have been residents of Cedarburg since 1990.
George is survived by his wife Beverly; children Wendy and Shaun Brandau; stepmother Grace Brandau; sister Carol Heathcock; brothers Chris and Mark (Carol) Brandau; in-laws Robert and Carolyn Blakney; sisters-in-law Susan (Frenchy) Guenette and Peggy Koenniger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, 16655 W. Bluemound Road, Suite 240, Brookfield, WI 53005-5935. Donation envelopes will be available at the service.
