Fred M. Powers
Fred M. Powers, 89, of Random Lake, entered eternal peace on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005 surrounded by his loving family at Gables on the Pond.
Fred was born Dec. 10, 1915 to Harry and Mary (nee Bernard) Powers in Toronto, Canada, and married May Zimmerman in Milwaukee, where the couple raised a family of their own.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II from 1944-1946 in Okinawa.
Fred was a retiree of Allis Chalmers of West Allis and Chrysler Outboard Motor Co. of Harford, and was a volunteer at the Washington County Mental Health Center.
He was a member of the Courtney Carr Milner Post 19 American Legion of Hartford, Badgerland Striders and Our Saviorís Lutheran Church of West Bend.
Fred will always be remembered and loved by his cherished wife, May; his children, James Powers and his wife, Judy, of Sheboygan, Mary Shawl and her husband, James, of Racine and Susan Jeske and her husband, David, of Brillion, and his two grandchildren, Michael Jeske and Renee Jeske, both of Manitowoc.
He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other special relatives and many friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend,.
Pastor Oscar Kraft will officiate and interment will follow the service on Friday at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 W. Green-field Ave., New Berlin.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m.
