Donald C. Klapka

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. tomorrow (Nov. 16) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton for Donald C. Klapka of Grafton, who lost his courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family at home on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 at the age of 59. Visitation will be held at the church on Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Don was born in Milwaukee on March 11, 1946, the son of the late Charles and Marie (nee Brennan) Klapka. On Nov. 27, 1965 he was united in marriage to Gayle (nee Koenitzer) Klapka.

For many years, Donald enjoyed teaching hunter safety to children in the Grafton area. He was also a Reserve Police Officer with the Grafton Police Department and a member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers Tool & Die Lodge No. 78.

Donald enjoyed his cabin up north and hunting, but most especially loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will also be missed by his loving dog BO.

Donald is survived by his wife Gayle of Grafton; son Shawn (Tracy) Klapka of Hartford; daughters Cheryl Klapka of Cedarburg and Julie (Devin) Knuth of Cedarburg; grandchildren Kelsey, Nicholas, Jesse, Alexandrea, Storm, Somer, Mia and Emili; mother-in-law Esther (the late Roger) Koenitzer; in-laws Dawn Koenitzer, Bruce Koenitzer, Karen (Tom) Reed and Scott (Deborah) Koenitzer. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his brother-in-law David Koenitzer.
