Thomas F. Brisgal
Thomas F. Brisgal, 80, of West Bend, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 at Angelís Grace Hospice of Oconomowoc.
He was born to Isadore G. and Frances (Eckhardt) Brisgal on March 1, 1925 in Milwaukee and was raised in the Milwaukee area.
After high school, he entered the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
After the service, Tom married Shirley M. Schmidt on Nov. 8, 1946 in Crown Point, Ind.
He graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) with a degree in engineering.
Tom and Shirley raised their family in the Milwaukee and Racine areas, then moved to Florida for seven years, returning to the West Bend area in 1995.
Tom loved spending time with his wife and family and enjoyed golfing and boating.
He was a member of Hon-E-Kor Golf Club in Kewaskum.
Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley; children, Sandra (Dean) Gunderson and Kathy (Kevin) Fisher, both of Richfield, Barb (Wally Mestad) Marone of Baraboo and Tami (Kai) Evensen of Oconomowoc.
Further surviving are his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Amy) Gunderson, Jennifer (Mark) Miller, Alison and Kelsey Fisher, Danya, Joey and Tony Marone and Erik and Leif Evensen; great-grandchildren, Haley, Evan, Nathan, Tyson and Jake; and a sister-in-law, Alice Schmidt of Dunbar.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother-in-law, Melvin Schmidt.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at noon at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend.
Cremation will be at Paradise Cremation Service, West Bend.
Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at noon.
All memorials will be distributed to Angelís Grace Hospice and other charities designated by the family.
