Fred C. Ashley
Fred C. Ashley, 81, of Jackson, entered eternal peace on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005 at Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend.
Fred was born Oct. 26, 1924 to Fredrick C. and Cleo R. (nee Walls) Ashley in Park Ridge, Ill.
The family remained in Park Ridge for some time, and later moved to Chicago.
Fred honorably served his country during World War II with the United States Coast Guard. While carrying out his duty, he was stationed on three ships that were struck and sunk by torpedo raids, and he courageously survived all three of the attacks.
Fred married Leona B. Simon on Oct. 13, 1967 in Chicago, where the couple lived until moving to Grafton, and later residing in Jackson.
He was employed in the maintenance department at Power Products of Grafton, formerly known as Tecumseh Products.
He was also a dedicated truck driver for Omega in Waukesha, where he and Leona would frequently drive truck together.
Fred was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Fred will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his beloved wife and devoted friend, Leona; his treasured son, Robert Ashley of Ellicott City, Md. and his sister, Lois Wise of Eugene, Ore.
He is further survived by other special relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Fredrick and Cleo Ashley.
Private funeral services were held at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend.
Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.
