Zigmund J. Graczyk

Zigmund J. Graczyk, 87, of West Bend was called home to reunite with his Creator and his beloved wife, Lorraine, who preceded him in death.

He was born Nov. 20, 1918 in the town of Sobieski to the late Walenty and Josephine (nee Branski) Graczyk, and was one of 10 children.

On April 27, 1946, he was united in marriage to Lorraine V. Palubicki at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Milwaukee.

They were long-time residents of Milwaukee until the late 1980s when the couple settled in West Bend.

Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie (Henry) Helminski and Gail Graczyk, both of West Bend and Donna (Lee) Guerrero of West Allis; five grandchildren, Russell Helminski of West Bend, JoEllen (Todd) Islo of Sussex, Adam (Belinda) Thorstensen of Enterprise, Ala., Robert (Lisa) Thorstensen of Northglenn, Colo. and Donald Thorstensen (Jenny Kubiak) of Port Washington; two step-grandchildren, Jeffrey (April) Guerrero of Thompson, Ga. and Cindy Guerrero of Ashland, Ohio; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Regina (Herman) Sitzberger of Fargo, Fla.; a brother, Alexander (Jeannie) Graczyk of South Milwaukee; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Nowak of San Jose, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Loretta) Palubicki of Clearwater, Fla.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Walter, Valentine, Kostek, Joseph, Bolish, Raymond and Sylvester.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 S. Seventh Ave., West Bend.

Father Jeffrey Haines will be the presider, and entombment will be Friday at St. Adalbertís Cemetery in Milwaukee.

Visitation at the church only will be on Thursday from 3 until 6:45 p.m.
