Lyle W. Manthei

Lyle W. Manthei, 77, of Kewaskum passed away on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005 at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.

He was born on April 25, 1928 in Kewaskum, the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Bastian) Manthei, and on July 2, 1949, he was united in marriage to Beatrice Kaehne at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbells-port.

Lyle served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was employed by Regal Ware Inc. in Kewaskum for 46 years and was a member of the 25- Year Club.

Lyle was also a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.

Lyle will fondly be remembered for his sense of humor and for his practical jokes.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and two of his favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Beatrice of Kewaskum; two daughters, Bonnie Connors of Mukwonago and Carol (Steven) Hart of Allenton; five grandchildren, Dustin, Jaclyn and Daniel Connors, Lindsay and Nicole Hart; a brother, Harold (Betty) Manthei of Kewaskum; four sisters, Shirley Fellenz of Kewas-kum, Eunice Yeadeke of Mayville, Ruth (Ronald) Tacke and Deanna Manthei; a sister-in-law, Anna Manthei of Kewaskum; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were two infant brothers; an infant sister; two brothers, Earl and Willard "Squinty" Manthei; a sister, Dorothy (Edwin) Stahnke and a brother-in-law, Leander Fellenz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum with Father Edwin Kornath officiating.

Burial, with military graveside rites, will follow in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from noon until the time of services.

The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum is serving the family.
