Jeremiah T. Oestreich
Jeremiah T. Oestreich, 27, of Hartford died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005 in Minocqua as the result of an ATV accident.
He was born Feb. 11, 1978 in Hartford, son of James and Janice Wierl Oestreich. He attended schools in Hartford and graduated with the class of 1996 from Hartford Union High School. He served two years active duty in the U.S. Army in field artillery. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He received his teaching certification from Silver Lake College in 2005. He was a substitute teacher in the Hartford School District. On Oct. 23, 2003, Jeremiah married the former Kristin O’Connor in Manitowoc. He was a member of OUI Wisconsin Old North West Company. He enjoyed traveling, historical re-enactments, leisure activities and, most importantly, he loved spending time with his wife.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kristin of Hartford; his parents, James and Janice Oestreich of Hartford; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Vickie O’Connor of Manitowoc; grandmother, Margaret Oestreich of Fox Lake; his wife’s grandmother, Donna Zipperer of Manitowoc; brother and sister-in-law, Jay (Sarah) Oestreich of Fond du lac; sister and brother-in-law, LeAnn (Doug) Rettler of Conway, Ark.; brother-in-law, Casey O’Connor of Manitowoc and his special friend, Becky Wallander, both of Manitowoc; and sister-in-law, Carrie O’Connor. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, one grandmother and his wife’s two grandfathers and one grandmother.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, 2005 at St. Francis Assisi-Waldo Site, 1121 North 14th St., Manitowoc, with Rev. Dave Hoffman officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Jeremiah will be accorded military services after the funeral mass.
Relatives and friends can call on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005 from 2-8 p.m. at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State St., Manitowoc. A prayer service will be led at 7:30 p.m. by Deacon Rich Bahnaman. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
