Iola Delores Kuehl
Iola Delores Kuehl, 77, of Theresa, went to meet our Lord on Wednesday Oct. 12, 2005 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital, Milwaukee.
She was born May 26, 1928 in Fond du Lac to the late Wynard Elicham Pixley and Eva Marie (nee Jones) and married Russell J. Kuehl on Jan. 5, 1948 in Fond du Lac.
She attended Fond du Lac public schools and graduated from Goodrich High School, Fond du Lac.
Iola was employed at Kohlmann’s Korner as a greeter and cashier, and also at The West Bend Co. and the A&P store in West Bend.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, town of Wayne where she taught Sunday school and was an honorary member of the Women’s Guild.
Iola always looked forward to baking desserts for the annual chicken dinner, and she was best known as "Mom" and "Nana."
Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Russell; four children, Jerilyn Kuehl of Appleton, Russell (Susan) Kuehl of Fond du Lac, Jay (Diane) Kuehl of Brownsville and Dawn Purdy of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elsie (Leonard) O’Laugh-lin, Eleanoris Lohse, Eleanor Everson and Ethel Rumbuc, all of Fond du Lac; a brother-in-law, Milton (Lilas) Kuehl of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Forest Pixley; a sister, Evelyn Haase, and a brother-in-law, Harold Kuehl.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 at Salem United Church of Christ, town of Wayne.
Rev. David D. Wernecke will officiate, and inurnment will be in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.
A time of support for family and friends will be held on Monday, Oct. 17 at the church from 3 to 4 p.m. A time of fellowship will follow the memorial service.
The Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.
