Ewald John Krohn

Ewald John Krohn, 88, of Iron Ridge, was called by his Savior at his home on Friday, Oct. 14, 2005.

He was born Feb. 20, 1917 in the town of Theresa to the late Henry and Lydia (nee Roediger) Krohn, and married Margaret Uttech on Aug. 20, 1949 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Lebanon.

The couple farmed in the town of Herman, where he served as president of Krohn Dairy Farms.

He was a member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge, and also served St. Matthew as an elder for many years.

Survivors include his wife; children, Norma (Gene) Bell of Theresa, Howard (Barb) Krohn of Iron Ridge, Linda (Richard) Zar-ling of West Bend, Joyce (Mark) Scharpf of Rubicon, Victor (Kendy) Krohn of Iron Ridge, Harvey (Laurie) Krohn of Camp-bellsport, Carol (Dennis) Justman of Iron Ridge and Curtis (Carrie) Krohn of Iron Ridge; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold (Claudia) Krohn of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Gertie (Marvin) Nitschke of Mukwon-ago; in-laws, Gertrude Krohn of Beaver Dam, Raymond (Irene) Uttech of Watertown, Melvin (Beulah) Uttech of Hartford, Floyd (Frances) Uttech of Neosho and Eileen (Donald) Gentz of Juneau; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a brother, Arnold and a sister, Frieda Wittchow.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge.

Rev. Larry Mose will officiate, and burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, Iron Ridge.

Visitation at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, will be Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m., and also on Wednesday at the church from noon until 1 p.m.
