Richard A. "Dick" Jankoski
Richard A. "Dick" Jankoski, 76, of West Bend, found eternal peace in the arms of the Lord, on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital, town of Polk, surrounded by his family.
Dick was born on March 15, 1929 in West Allis, where he was also raised, to the late Edward and Julia (nee Ignasiak) Jankoski. He was a 1947 graduate of Pius High School.
On May 21, 1949, he married the love of his life and soulmate, Geraldine E. Michaels, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wauwatosa.
The couple lived in Muskego before moving to West Bend in 1967.
Dick was a skilled carpenter working in the residential and commercial trades all his life.
His true passion was listening to jazz, but above all and foremost in his life was his family.
He was also an avid golfer, hunter, and devoted sports enthusiast.
Dick was a member of the Carpenter’s Union 113 and the Moose Lodge 1398 of West Bend.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Geraldine "Jari" Jankoski of West Bend; adoring children, Richard (Sylvia) of Phoenix, Ariz., Anthony of Denver, Colo., Valerie (Michael) O’Meara of Stevens Point, Julie (Joe) Reinders of Nashotah, Cristi Winkler of Allenton and Peggy (Keith) Hankerson of Slinger and 14 cherished grandchildren.
Brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives, and many friends further survive him.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Edward and a son, Martin.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend.
Father Jeffrey Haines will officiate, and cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday from 5 pm. until the time of service.
