Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pickerel for Sherrie Thiede of Deerbrook, who died of Wegener’s Granulomatosis disease at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 at the age of 61. Visitation will be held today from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home in Antigo, and also at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pickerel (prior to the funeral service). The burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Pickerel.
Sherri was born on Aug. 18, 1944 in Fond du Lac, daughter of Violet (Zingshein) Konrath of Hartford and the late Harland J. Konrath. Raised in Hartford, she graduated from Hartford High School in 1962. On July 11, 1964, Sherrie married Donald Thiede at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford. The couple moved to Grafton where Sherrie was employed part time by News Graphic as an administrative assistant. In 2000, they moved to Deerbrook.
Sherrie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pickerel, where she actively served as a lector, Eucharistic minister and member of the parish council, planning committee and funeral dinner committee. She coordinated the religious education and the Bible study group and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed snowmobiling and was a member of Tombstone-Pickerel Snowmobile Club. Sherrie also enjoyed camplng, riding an ATV, taking care of her yard and gardening.
Sherri is survived by her mother Violet Konrath; husband Donald Thiede; children Tami Schneider of Germantown and Todd (Deann) Thiede of Grafton; grandchildren AIex, Jake, Taylor, Leah and Emilee; sister Kathy "Kate" (Frank) Zabler of Neosho; brothers Ronald (Heidi) Konrath of Sussex and Robert Konrath of Hartford.
