Wilbur J. Steinbeck
Wilbur J. Steinbeck, 78, a resident of Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, formerly of Campbells-port, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005 at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.
He was born Jan. 4, 1918 in Primghar, Iowa, the son of the late John and Mary (Meyer) Steinbeck, and on Aug. 16, 1946, he married Louise E. Mohni in Everly, Iowa.
Wilbur was in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in France and Germany.
He farmed in Iowa and Minnesota until moving to Wisconsin in 1974 where he worked at The West Bend Co. until retirement.
Wilbur was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Campbellsport and the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 in Kewaskum.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda (James) Fideler of Campbellsport; his daughter-in-law, Sandra Dixon of Worthington, Minn.; his grandchildren, Scott (Amy) Fideler, Tracy (Johnny) Rodriquez, Brian Fideler, Michael (fiancee Heidi Page) Fideler, Shelly (Randy) King, Lori (Jeff) Voss and Rick (JoEllen) Dixon; his great-grandchildren, Sadie Fideler, Owen Fideler, Ethan Fideler, Josh King, Karissa Voss, Mara Dixon and Devin Dixon.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Louise, on July 10, 2005; his stepson, Ronald Dixon; his parents; two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Campbellsport.
Rev. Richard Schliewe will officiate and entombment will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.
Visitation at the church will be Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until time of services.
