Ewald John Krohn
Ewald John Krohn, 88, of Iron Ridge passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2005 at his home. He was born Feb. 20, 1917 in Theresa to Henry and Lydia (nee Roediger) Krohn. He was married Aug. 20, 1949 to Margaret Uttech at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Lebanon. With his wife, he farmed in the town of Herman and served as the president of Krohn Dairy Farms. He was a member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge and served as a church elder for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Norma (Gene) Bell of Theresa, Howard (Barb) Krohn of Iron Ridge, Linda (Richard) Zarling of West Bend, Joyce (Mark) Scharpf of Rubicon, Victor (Kendy) Krohn of Iron Ridge, Harvey (Laurie) Krohn of Campbellsport, Carol (Dennis) Justman of Iron Ridge and Curtis (Carrie) Krohn of Iron Ridge; sister and brother, Harold (Claudia) Krohn of Tucson, Ariz. and Gertie (Marvin) Nitschke of Mukwonago; in-laws, Gertrude Krohn of Beaver Dam, Raymond (Irene) Uttech of Watertown, Melvin (Beulah) Uttech of Hartford, Floyd (Francis) Uttech of Neosho and Eileen (Donald) Gentz of Juneau; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and he is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arnold; and a sister, Frieda Wittchow.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005 at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Mose officiating. Burial was at St. Matthew Cemetery in Iron Ridge. Visitation was on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville and also on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005 prior to the funeral service. Memorials can be directed to St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge.
