James Stanley Geddes
A funeral service was held March 25 at Cottrill Funeral Home in Mayville for James Stanley Geddes, 76, who died March 21, 2006 at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon. Cottrill Funeral Home in Mayville served the family.
James was born July 11, 1929 in Milwaukee to H. Stanley and Anna (Hertz) Geddes. He married Donna Manicke on Sept. 20, 1952 in Hartland.
He graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in 1947. He enlisted in the Air Force and served from 1948-52 in San Angelo, Texas. He then attended Carroll College in Waukesha.
Along with his wife, he owned and operated Geddesburg Restaurant at Wood’s Bridge from 1970-79. After retiring from Karak Manufacturing in Cedarburg, he became a resident of Mayville in 2001. Jim had many endeavors. He owned Wisconsin Pallet Co. in Colgate and a charter boat.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and scuba diving. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 122 in Hartland, Hartland-Oconomowoc Masonic Lodge 42, Milwaukee Shriners and Ducks Unlimited.
Survivors include his wife Donna of Mayville; son James (Cindy) of Fox Lake; daughters Susan (Dan) Muenchow of Horicon and Sally (John) Ralph of Madison; grandchildren Trisha, Jennifer, James H. and Samuel Geddes, and Andrew and Darren Muenchow; great-granddaughter Adrianna Geddes; nephews Kevan (Deborah) Mayer and Kent Mayer; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Eric; and sister Ginia Mayer.
