Lawrence R. "Larry" Rasmussen

Lawrence R. "Larry" Rasmussen, 69, of Fond du Lac, died on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at All About Life Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac.

He was born July 7, 1936 in Milwaukee to Elmer and Hilda (nee Pfister) Rasmussen, and attended school in Menomonee Falls.

Larry married Barbara Katz-fey, and together they farmed for 15 years in the Hartford area before moving to Allenton.

He was employed by Kruepke Trucking, retiring in 1976.

Larry married Mary Hartwig in 1977, and they moved to the Theresa area where they owned and operated the "Chopper Shop."

He retired in the late 1990s.

Larry enjoyed traveling, fishing, spending time driving and working on his 1957 Nash Ambassador and his dog, Rascal.

He was a former member of Teamster Local 200.

Survivors include three sons, Lawrence E. (Cheryl) of Camp-bellsport, David of Fond du Lac and Dwayne of Cudahy; three daughters, Donna (Richard) Scherer of Allenton, Elaine (David Sr.) Gloede of Campbells-port and JoAnn (Joseph) Vogel of Mayville; a stepson, Lonnie Hartwig (friend Dawn Wenzel) of Mayville; two sisters-in-law, Arlene (Marvin) Twardokus of Hartford and Louise (Charles) Wagner of Mayville; a brother-in-law, Ervin Butzlaff of Mayville; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Mary; a daughter in infancy; a brother, Ken; and a stepson, Dennis Hartwig.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 10 at 5 p.m. at the Cottrill Funeral Home, Mayville, with Rev. Geoffrey Hoy officiating.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 3 until 5 p.m.
