Anita A. Lepien

Anita A. Lepien (nee Schwamb), 93, of Hartford passed away Saturday, April 8, 2006 at her residence.

She was born June 21, 1912 in the town of Erin to Joseph and Emma (nee Hoefs) Schwamb, and she married Edward Lepien on Sept. 30, 1931 at the Little Brown Church in Iowa.

Anita was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hartford.

Edward and Anita farmed together until retirement.

She enjoyed pictures, paper clippings and keeping a diary every day for many years. She would check back on past years after she made her new entries for that day.

When her son would bring her the mail in the morning she would report to him what had happened on this day last year or several years earlier. She would tell him about the weather or planting dates or the first time they would go on the land.

Anita looked forward to the phone calls from family and friends, especially Tom Walsh, to talk about old times and common ancestry.
