Stanislaus "Stan" Thomas
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. today at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2700 W. Mequon Road, Mequon for Stanislaus "Stan" Thomas Kulfan, 78, of Mequon, who was called home to the Lord on Thursday, April 6, 2006. Private entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, Mequon, assisted the family.
Stan was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 27, 1927. Stan was a dedicated employee of Alcoa Aluminum Company of America, closure division for 40 years and traveled worldwide as a technical service representative. As an active member of Lumen Christi Catholic Church in Mequon, he served on the parish board. Stan was most proud and honored to serve as an Ozaukee County Supervisor representing District 23 for12 years until his retirement this month. Because of Stanís retirement, a wealth of experience in county government will be lost.
He is survived by his wife, Joan (Bailey) Kulfan; and children, Stan (Diana) Kulfan, Cynthia Kulfan, Renee Kulfan, Pam (Jeff) Kulfan Smith, Howard (Donna) Bailey, Bradford (Kathy) Bailey, Philip (Terese) Bailey and was preceded in death by Timothy Kulfan. "Grandpa Stan" is fondly remembered by 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Stan is also survived by two sisters, Helen Ondi and Elizabeth Bogatay, and sister-in-law Estelle Lojewski. Stan is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and a wealth of good friends.
