Loretta A. Aufdermauer
Loretta A. Aufdermauer (nee Digmann) of Lomira, formerly of Hartford, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at the Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.
She was 101 years old.
She was born Dec. 25, 1904 in Kieler to Joseph and Margaret (nee Ziegenfuss) Digmann. She married Joseph Aufdermauer on June 8, 1926 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler.
Loretta was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodland, the Daughters of Isabella and Hartford Senior Friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, gardening and crocheting.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Henry) Schnitzler of Lomira; her son, Father Joseph Aufdermauer of Milwaukee; seven grandchildren, Joan (Richard) Dvorsky, Ronald (Sandra) Aufdermauer, Nancy (David) Sowieja, Claudia Jane Aufdermauer, Judy (Mark) Holl, John (Jeanne) Schnitzler and Dr. Henry Schnitzler; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by other relatives and special friends.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, Claude (Mary Jane); seven brothers, Art, Wilbert, Alois, John, Alfred, Ray and Leonard; and a sister, Stella Ginter.
Mass of Christian Burial for Loretta was Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Woodland, with Father Joseph Aufdermauer officiating.
Family greeted relatives and friends at the church prior to the ceremony. Inurnment was at St. Mary Cemetery, Woodland.
Memorials to the charity of one’s choice appreciated.
Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford assisted the family.
