Gerald J. Hetzel

Gerald J. Hetzel of the town of Hartford passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at his home with his family at his side. He was 63 years old.

He was born May 29, 1942 in Port Washington to Harvey and Loretta (nee Stahl) Hetzel. He married Judy Janz on Aug. 28, 1965 at St. Mary Lake Church in Belgium, Wis.

Gerald was a member of St. Kilian Church and the Knights of Columbus. He worked at Harley-Davidson for over 32 years as an experimental engineer mechanic. He also farmed the family farm at the same time. He raised young stock and raised crops. He enjoyed riding his Harley and traveling around the country in his RV.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy; his five children, Calvin (Michele) of Sun Prairie, Scot of Hartford, Mark of Hartford, Pamela (Steve) Camarato of De Forest and Jennifer Hetzel of Kenosha; five grandchildren, Katie, Erica, Matthew, Jessica and Anthony; a brother, Jerome (Janet) Hetzel of Sheboygan; and two sisters, Shirley Fogl of Brookfield and Marilyn (Fred) Erickson of Sturgeon Bay. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

Gerald was preceded in death by parents; brother-in-law, Richard Fogl; and an infant sister, Mary.

Mass of Christian Burial for Gerald will be Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 10 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford with Father Mike Petrie officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 21 from 4-7 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9-10 a.m. Interment will be at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.
