David L. Larson
David L. Larson, 62, of Janesville, died courageously after a long battle with lung cancer April 7, 2006, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center in Fitchburg.
David was born on May 13, 1943, in Oconomowoc.
He graduated from Hartford Union High School and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
He married Darlene Indermuehle on June 21, 1964. He graduated from Milton College.
He worked at Gibbs Manufacturing, the Janesville Police Department and General Motors.
He was the president of Peening Process and Larson Laser Cartridge.
David was an active, well-known and highly respected member of Alcoholics Anonymous for the past 20 years.
He devoted countless hours to helping others find the sobriety and fellowship he gained from the organization and its program.
David also gave of himself tirelessly in service work in Area 75 of AA, which covers the southern half of the State of Wisconsin.
He also volunteered at the Salvation Army, the Rock County Council on Aging and donated 14 gallons of blood to the Red Cross.
David will be remembered for his love of food and cooking good groceries, Friday night pizza with his family, maintaining and improving his farm, traveling (Florida and Bali), providing violin lessons for his grandchildren, watching the Packers, doing daily crossword puzzles and forwarding inspirational e-mails to his network of family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene; sons, Daniel (Susan) of Janesville and Dylan (Melissa) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two beloved grandchildren, Kade and Sophie; a sister, Gwen (Loren) Lawson of Maysville, Mo.; special cousin, Jim Abrahamson, Jeffersonville, Ind.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. David will be dearly missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Fannie (Geddes) Larson and an aunt, Nellie Doerr.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in the memory of David.
All Faiths Funeral Services in Janesville assisted the family.
