Robert W. "Bob" Schalk
Robert W. "Bob" Schalk, 63, of Allenton, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Kathy Hospice, town of West Bend.
Bob was born Sept. 22, 1942 to William J. and June A. (nee Hefko) Schalk in Marshfield, where he also grew up.
He attended and graduated from Stratford High School in 1960.
Bob dedicated his time and hard workmanship to farming and other various jobs that he could help others out with.
He then honorably enlisted in the United States Army during the Cold War Era. After serving his country, he returned home and continued farming.
Through mutual friends, he was introduced to Mary Jane Polzin, and on April 14, 1973, Bob devoted his love and his life to Mary in Abbotsford.
The couple moved to the West Bend area and began a beautiful family of their own.
Bob then became employed for Slinger Manufacturing.
In his free time, he loved camping, working on his hobby farm and especially loved spending quality time his wife, children and grandchildren.
Bob will forever be remembered and loved by his beloved wife and best friend, Mary; his cherished children, Andy (Kristin) Schalk of Milwaukee and Alexandria "Alex" (Bryan Watson) Schalk of Newport Richie, Fla; his treasured grandsons, Conrad, Tyler, Jamie and Logan Schalk; adored granddaughters, Angel Schalk and Cheyenne Watson; and his dear brothers, Ted (Shirley) Schalk of Chattanooga, Tenn., Jack (Carol) Schalk of Marshfield and Conrad Schalk of Chattanooga, Tenn.
He will also be missed by his mother-in-law, Lois Polzin of Abbotsford; his sisters-in-law, Esther (Allen Bremmer) Westerhausen of Wausau, Nancy Polzin of Marshfield, Bernice (Steve) Mertens of Coloma, Gloria (Mark) Homer of Medford and Marion Polzin of Sohren, Germany; brothers-in-law, Ted (Bonnie) Polzin of Colby, John (Marcia Tomezyk) Polzin of Delevan, Roger (Carol) Polzin of Hatley, Ronald (Claudia) Polzin of Temple, Texas, David Polzin of Prentice and Charles (Debbie) Polzin of Stratford; two aunts, Ruth Hefko of Marshfield and Ruth Schalk of Milwaukee; other special relatives, and many dear friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Bernard Polzin; and a brother-in-law, James.
A funeral service to honor Bob will be held on Saturday, April 22, at 1 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, with Rev. Timothy A. Henning officiating.
Cremation will be at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.
Visitation with family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m.
