Monte Roger Laverenz

Monte Roger Laverenz, 69, of West Bend died on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at his home.

He was born Oct. 23, 1936 in Campbellsport to the late Albert and Erna (nee Fude) Laverenz and married JulieAnne Hoff-mann on Nov. 5, 1960 in Milwau-kee.

Monte served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955-1959.

He worked for 17 years at Hoffy’s Meats in Milwaukee and for 18 years at the West Bend County Club where he enjoyed his work taking care of the golf course.

Monte will be missed dearly by his loving and devoted wife, JulieAnne; and his two beloved children, Chris (Connie) Laverenz of White Lake, Mich., and Lea Mapes of West Bend.

He was also the proud "Papa" of four beloved grandchildren, Kayla Marie and Jarrett Jeffrey Mapes of West Bend and Andrew Blake and Alexander Brett Laverenz of White Lake, who will miss him dearly.

He is further survived by his loving sister, Judith and brother-in-law, James Giersch and their children and grandchildren.

He is also survived by his devoted brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bernard "Bernie" and Katherine Hartert, Cyrill "Butch" and Sharon Hoffmann and Anne Marie Zolinski and their children and grandchildren, and many other dear relatives.

He is also survived by his wonderful lifelong friend, Paul "Paulie" Prekop and many others too numerous to mention whose love and friendship blessed his life.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his in-laws, Cyrill "Hoffy" and Anne Hoffmann of Milwaukee; and his brother-in-law, Leonard Zolinski of West Bend.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 6 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend.

Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for his grandchildren’s college funds are appreciated.
