Lester Bartel Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. today at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Lester Bartel Sr., who died on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at his home in Cedarburg at the age of 89. The Rev. Randolph Raasch will officiate the funeral service. Visitation will be held this evening at the church, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will take place at Immanuel Cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg is serving the family.
Lester Bartel Sr. was born on Nov. 13, 1916 in the town of Scott, son of the late Frank and Ida (nee Holz) Bartel. On May 30, 1941, he married Margaret Luedtke in Cascade. Their marriage was blessed with four children.
Lester was a member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active in the Men’s Club at the church. He was also a member of the Ozaukee County Farm Bureau.
Lester is survived by his sons Jeffrey (fiancˇe Sherry Allen) Bartel of Cedarburg, Gregory Bartel of Saukville and Lester (Bonnie) Bartel Jr. of Grafton; sisters Clara Kempf of Beechwood and Evelyn Kempf of Kewaskum; and brother Marlin Bartel of Sheboygan. He is further survived by nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lester was preceded in death by his wife Margaret; his son Wayne; and his siblings Arno, Herbert, Oscar, Frank, Laymond, Elva and Lenora.
