A Baha値 service and visitation were held on Aug. 1 at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Mequon for Rose Kubala (nee Re) of Thiensville. Rose passed peacefully into God痴 kingdom at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2006 with her husband Albin at her side. She died at the Newcastle Skilled Care Unit in Mequon, at the age of 81. Interment took place at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
Rose was born on Oct. 20, 1924 in the Third Ward of Milwaukee, daughter of Gaetano and Antonina Re. She married Albin Kubala in Milwaukee during World War II. Two of their children, Kathy and Thomas, were born in Milwaukee, while Eileen was born in Queen痴 Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, when the family went to assist with the consolidation of the Baha段 Faith in 1954. At the end of 1962, the family moved back to Wisconsin and settled in Waukesha to help with the formation of a Baha段 local spiritual assembly. Rose was a tireless worker for the faith and her family. She assisted her husband in getting through architectural school in Illinois. She and her husband also did extensive traveling throughout southern Europe, Mexico, Canada and the United States. Rose will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Rose is survived by her husband Albin Kubala; children Kathy (Frank) Multerer, Thomas (Patty) Kubala and Eileen (Gary) Johnson; 10 grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; and her sisters Petrina Rogers, Mary Potter and Carmen. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
