Private funeral services were held for James Fugate of Grafton, who died at the Belair Health Care Facility in Milwaukee on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006 at the age of 76. Inurnment will take place at the Southeastern Veteranís Cemetery in Union Grove. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg served the family.
James was born on April 22, 1930 in Baltimore, Md., to the late Claude and Vernia (nee Ward) Fugate. He married Joanne Kuehl in Sheboygan on May 31, 1952. Their marriage was blessed with four children.
James served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the Korean Service Medal with one bronze star.
James is survived by his wife Joanne (nee Kuehl) Fugate of Grafton; children Christine (Dr. Fred) Timm of the town of Grafton, Vicki Fugate of Jackson, Thomas (Jean) Fugate of Grafton and Betty (Michael) Cibulka of the town of Grafton; grandchildren Andrew and Emily Timm, Jacob and Caleb Sigler, Robert and Joseph Fugate, Adam and Abigail Cibulka; siblings Willie Mae Smith of Johnson City, Tenn., Lillian Smith of Johnson City, Tenn., Stella Dickinson of Castlewood, Va., and Jerry Fugate of St. Paul, Va. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
