Sylvia F. Dougherty
Sylvia F. Dougherty, 89, of Kenosha, formerly of Oshkosh, passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 2006 at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha.
She was born in Oshkosh on March 28, 1917, the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Robl) Blechinger.
Sylvia was an owner and manager of a beauty salon.
On Sept. 19, 1936 she married Arthur T. Dougherty at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osh-kosh.
He survives along with one son, Lee S. (Kaye) Dougherty; three grandchildren, Kent L. Dougherty, David A. (Lisa) Dougherty and Francine (Tom) Pompeo; seven great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Joseph L. and Carl G. Blechinger; and five sisters, Mary T. Blechinger, Theresa Jungworth, Anna Pohl-man, Helen Drexler and Dorothy Mohr.
Sylvia was a loving wife and mother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, at St. Vincentís Catholic Church, 216 W. South Park Ave., Oshkosh, with Father William Van De Kreeke as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Oshkosh.
Friends may greet the family at the church on Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Anne Catholic church, 8550 88th St., Pleasant Prairie, WI. 53158-2016.
