Karen Marie Schultz
Karen Marie Schultz, nee Glander, 68, of West Bend, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006 at Synergy- Health St. Joseph’s Hospital, town of Polk.
Karen was born March 18, 1938, the daughter Agnes M. (nee Survis) and Elmer Barkow in West Bend, where she was also raised.
She graduated from West Bend High School in 1956.
After graduation, she married Donald Henry Schultz on Aug. 25, 1956.
The couple began a loving family of their own, to whom Karen devoted her love, time and energy.
After she raised her children, Karen became a dedicated employee of Shopko, where she was able to retire from.
During her free time, she enjoyed attending rummage sales, especially to search for antiques, sewing, expanding her knowledge of computers, and, above all, making wonderful memories with her grandchildren.
Karen will be missed by her loving husband of 50 years, Donald; her cherished children, Cindy (James) Boylen of Allenton, Debbie (Russ) Lemke of Random Lake, Don (Ginger) Schultz Jr. of West Bend, Mike (Debbie) Schultz of West Bend, and Christine (Allen) Tackes of Allenton; her adored grandchildren, Shane (Jeni) Lemke, Nicholas Boylen, Matthew Boylen, Steven Schultz, Jennifer (special friend, Grant) Schultz, Roechelle Tackes, Robert Tackes, and Carly Schultz; her stepfather, Elmer Barkow of West Bend; two brothers, Fritz Glander of Wisconsin and Roger (Cindy) Glander of Minnesota; siblings-in-law, Renata Schultz of Minnesota, Mildred (Ralph) Wegner of Grafton, Charlotte (Don) Esselman of Port Washington, Lester (Carol) Schultz of Cedar Grove, Earl (Helen) Schultz of California and Audrey (Roger) Geib of Saukville; her good friend, Joan Pick of West Bend; and her loving cat, "Toby."
Karen is further survived by many, many nieces, nephews, other special relatives and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Barkow; her father, Fredrick Glander; a brother, Curtis Barkow; a sister, Diane Becker; a grandson, James Boylen Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Harold Schultz.
A funeral service to honor Karen will be held on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, with Pastor Rich Vincent officiating.
Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend, followed by an interment of ashes in Lakefield Cemetery.
Visitation with family and friends of Karen will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m.
