Peter A. Lorscheider
Peter A. Lorscheider, 65, of Slinger, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006 at his home.
Peter was born the son of Friedrich J. and Elisabeth H. (nee Veuskens) Lorscheider, on April 7, 1941 in Margetshoechheim, Germany. He resided in Germany until age 18, when he came to the United States.
He began working in the electrical transformer industry at Sorgel Electric Co., which later became known as Square D. He was a dedicated employee there for almost 38 years.
On Sept. 15, 1962, Peter exchanged wedding vows with Maryann Wojtczak in Milwaukee. They raised a family of their own in Milwaukee until 1978 when they moved to Slinger.
After his career at Square D, Peter also worked at the University of Wisconsin-Milwau-kee in the custodial department for about two and a half years.
During his free time, papa enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, which were the pet passion of his life.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Maryann; his cherished daughters and sons-in-law, Krista (Greg) Phillips of Slinger and Carin (Don) Kroll of Pataskala, Ohio; his four treasured grandkids, Kendall and Garrett Phillips, and Madeleine and Sebastien Kroll; his dear siblings, Eugenia (Erwin) Schwab of Germany, Henriette (Edward) Kaiser of Brookfield, Bernd Lorscheider of Germany and Fritz Lorscheider of Germany; and his sister-in-law on Maryann’s side, Esther (Frank) Trzebiatowski of Amherst.
He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law.
A funeral service to honor Peter will be held on Monday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, with Jeff Bakken offering words of remembrance.
Cremation will be at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend, and interment of ashes will take place on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
Visitation with family and friends will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m.
