Robert E. "Bob" De Tuncq

Robert E. "Bob" De Tuncq, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 24, 2006 at Aurora Medical Center in Hartford.

Bob was born on Sept. 3, 1935 to Edward and Meta De Tuncq (nee Held) in West Bend, where he lived his entire life.

He graduated from West Bend High School in 1953 and married Patricia Palash on Aug. 22, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Bob began working in the family dry cleaning business and later, was a homebuilder and general contractor.

He was the founder of Venture Labs and West Bend Industries where he was also president and CEO.

Bob helped bring several Billy Graham evangelistic films to West Bend, and in 1988 joined and become active in the Gideons International (the Bible people).

He was an active member of First Alliance Church and on the board of directors of Living Hope International.

Survivors include his wife, Pat; four children, Kathleen (Dennis) Wild of Hartford, Elizabeth "Lisa" (Mark) Wergin of West Bend, Michelle (Jeff) Werner of Hartford and Peter (Rebecca) De Tuncq of West Bend; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey (Katie) Wergin, Jennifer and Jessica Wergin, Christopher, Aubre, and Chelsea Werner, Andrew and John De Tuncq; two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Leah Wergin.

He is further survived by a sister, Darlyn (John) Neff, of Iowa City, Iowa; two brothers, Donald De Tuncq of Abrams and Edward "Chip" (Jackie) De Tuncq of Beaver Dam; and a brother-in-law, Neil (Kristen) Palash of Wauwatosa; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The celebration service to honor the life of Robert will be held Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 7:30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend.

Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation with family and friends will be on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
