Lawrence "Flicky" Wickert Jr.

A celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, for Lawrence "Flicky" Wickert Jr. of West Bend. Lawrence passed away on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 at Kathy’s Hospice of West Bend at the age of 65. The Rev. David Schoob will officiate the funeral service. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home, from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park.

Flicky was born on July 31, 1941 in Barton to Lawrence and Ann (nee Plischounig) Wickert. He was united in marriage to Nancy Fickler on Aug. 6, 1960 in Kewaskum. Flicky barbered for 44 years, first in Barton with his father, then in Myra and finally in Newburg. He also ran Flicky’s Charcoal Pit in Myra for seven years.

Flicky is survived by his wife Nancy; his sons Lawrence III "Chip" of Milwaukee and Lon of Charlotte, N.C.; daughters Lori (Tim) Perkins of Milwaukee, Lynn (Steve) Weston of West Bend and Lisa (Pat) Vokoun of Jackson; grandchildren Kyle, Kari, Jake, Nick, Amanda, Ali, Ryan and Alex. He is also survived by his brother Jim (Janice) Wickert of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; sister Mary (John) Tessar of Kewaskum; aunts Olga Schley and Betty Plischounig; and sister-in-law Colleen (Steve) Bradford of Bolingbrook, Ill. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and very dear friends. Flicky was preceded in death by his parents.
